CHRISTIAN NESVADBA

Christian Nesvadba was born in 1977 in Vienna. He has made his mark as an artist with bright, bold strokes. His eye for color and movement are uniquely his own.

Christian's father, the celebrated landscape artist Gerhard Nesvadba, was his first tutor. The boy's gift was recognized early in school and consequently he transferred to one that specialized in drawing and engineering. These fields were too rigid and technical for this emerging artist. Christian was discovering his own voice, after years of absorbing his father's knowledge. His first major award was the prestigious SalzBurger Kulturfonds Prize, earned in 1997 when the artist was just twenty years old. Two one-man shows in Salzberg and Linz followed in 1998. Christian Nesvadba was featured in a one-man exhibition in Vienna in 1999, and his U.S.A. debut was at the New York Art Expo in 2000.

As the worldwide art community was embracing Christian's artwork, and at the height of his success, tragedy struck.  On October 7, 2008, at the age of 32, Christian Nesvadba passed away in a car accident.  He leaves behind his wife Sigrid, daughter Joline and his parents, artist Gerhard Nesvadba and Hermine Nesvadba.  He also leaves behind many thousands of collectors and appreciators of fine art around the world.

West End Gallery has been proud to represent Christian Nesvadba and offer his paintings to customers across the United States and Canada.
